spring Break break down?!
In April after Spring Break, Mrs. Reid worked feverishly to get all students assessed on their reading comprehension skills. Thankfully, almost ALL K5 students are reading at a First grade level! Wow! All our students have worked so hard this year and we are so proud of how far they have come in their reading and writing skills.
In Math, students have been learning about different shapes. Our students are so creative they even want to learn the proper names of shapes that have more than one dimension and have many faces and vertices!
In Social Studies and Science the past month, students have learned about maps and globes, community helpers, and different cultures customs and anthems. This past week, we were able to prepare together food from the different countries that we learned about. I think it was my favorite week of the school year! Thank you parents for all your help with donations.
For the rest of the school year we will be learning about Holiday's in different cultures, making slime, how to do various kinds of art techniques, reviewing our reading skills, practicing our writing skills, reviewing what we know in math, and learning more about God's life on earth. We will also be practicing for Graduation on Tuesday and Thursday mornings.
We are excited for the rest of the school year and we hope you are too! Take a look down below to see pictures of the past month.
Also, welcome Mrs. Rusnak to our Kindergarten team for next year. She will be taking Mrs. Reid's place (she is moving out of the country) in the K5 classroom with Mrs. Ikehara!
