Wasn't Winter Break fun? We all had a nice break, but now we are back to school and it is time to learn! It was our first whole week back since the break and we were busy.
In Bible, students learned more about Jesus' life on earth and how he called his many disciples to, "take up their cross and follow him" (Matthew 16:24) and they obeyed!
In reading and writing, students reviewed consonant sounds that we have trouble remembering such as B, D, Q, and P. We read books by Peter Reynolds who encourages creativity and inclusion. We wrote more about showing others how-to do specific things (procedural writing), and we reviewed retelling a story.
In Social Studies we learned about the differences between needs and wants, why they are both important, and next week we will build on that to learn about trade, and how we can get the things we want or need.
