We had a great Student Led Conference date, and our students did a wonderful job showing and telling their parents about what they've been doing at school all year.
We are so proud of all the progress our students have made this year, and we are looking forward to seeing how our students do in their future en devours.
At school, students have been taking chapter tests in Math, learning to skip count, and learning new math vocabulary. We have been taking reading comprehension tests, learning how to write a report, and reviewing reading comprehension skills we've already learned like, recalling the story, segmenting the story, and making connections to stories. We have been learning new sight words, and how to use them in every day speaking, as well as reviewing the sight words we most commonly see and read. Students in K5 have been learning about landforms, and how they relate to God's world and how we can take care of it. This week, we are planning on making exploding volcano's! I can't wait.
I'm really impressed by how well the students are doing with reading at home. This is instilling in them a love for reading, and also helping them in their fluency and reading comprehension skills, which will help them throughout their educational career. I cannot tell you what a relief it is to know that you parents are helping your students become better readers at home. Thank you for your hard work and dedication to your child's education!
