Though we had a short week this week, there were many new and exciting things happening in Kindergarten. We changed our daily schedule to include Music class once a week for K5.1 & K5.2 and to get more time in the classroom with our assistants. By Friday, we all started to get used to the new schedule a bit more and the students did really well! I can't wait to see how our first whole week back at school goes.
In Reading and Writing we were able to review what the main idea of a book is, and how to blend onset and rime in words. We read books about animals in different habitats since that is what we are learning about in science as well. We were introduced to procedural writing, which is, how to write directions for someone to follow to do something. For example, how-to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwhich.
In Science we learned about what animals need to stay alive, their different habitats, and our responsibilities to Gods creation.
In Math students got caught up on their work books, reviewed some skip counting and adding two numbers together to get a bigger number.
