Here are some photos of some cool things that have been happening in the classroom.
Some reminders:
- Mr. Jernberg came to visit to speak to all the students about how to make good choices when handling problems.
- Mrs. Ikehara found some gecko eggs near her home and brought them in a jar to show the children. Each child held the jar with care. By recess, one of the gecko eggs hatched! The students were overjoyed to see the baby gecko and wanted to feed it some bugs.
- Students enjoying learning and using hands on materials. They are growing so much!
Some reminders:
- Friendship Friday t-shirts have been ordered and we are waiting for them to arrive.
- First Quarter ends on Friday, October 9th.
- No school next week Monday, 5/12. Teacher Development day and records day.
- Second Quarter begins on 10/13.
- Report Cards will be given to parents at Parent Teacher Conference on 10/23. With parents who are able, we may ask to schedule a conference prior to that day to help with timing. Conferences are usually around 15-20 minutes, and it's a great time to ask any questions you might have. There is no school that day for students.
- We are looking for team of moms to help be our "Class Mom." We have a couple of volunteers so far, if you are interested, please let us know.
- Walkathon is on Saturday, November 14. Lots of information about that will go out soon. It is a fundraiser where students and parents (and anyone who wants to participate!) walk from OCSI to Renaissance Hotel and back. (K-2nd grade can catch the bus and do a half course.)
- No school on 11/16, the Monday after Walkathon. :)
