This month in Bible, we have been focusing on the birth of Jesus Christ. Our memory verse is adapted from 1 John 4:10 "God loved us and sent His Son." And Matthew 1:21 "You shall call his name Jesus." One of my favorite Bible verses is John 3:16. It says, "For God so loved the world that he gave his only son, that whoever believes in Him, shall not perish, but have eternal life." It is our hope to bring this GOOD NEWS to all people. Jesus' birth is the true meaning of Christmas. This month during our Bible Time, we have happily been doing "Bible Theatre!" The students enjoy watching the show of their own peers, as they dress up as the characters in the Bible story. They do their best to act out their parts and even repeat a few lines! The audience also participated as the Choir of Angels and sang, "Glory to God in the Highest!" It has been a wonderful way to bring this beautiful Christmas story to life, and we hope the children will remember it for a very long time.
If you would like to watch it at home, here is a video of The Beginner's Bible, "The Story of the Nativity" ~ The birth of God's son, Jesus Christ.
CHRISTMAS SONGS
The children LOVE singing! We have learned a lot of Christmas songs! Here are the lyrics if you want to sing them at home.
Away in the Manger
1. Away in the manger, no crib for a bed. The little Lord Jesus, lay down His sweet head. The stars in the sky look down where he laid. The little Lord Jesus asleep on the hay!
2. The cattle are lowing, the baby awakes. But little Lord Jesus, no crying He makes. I love you, Lord Jesus, look down from the sky, and stay by my cradle 'till morning is nigh!
Glory to God in the Highest
Glory to God in the highest (clap 2x) Glory to God in the highest heavens
Glory to God in the highest (clap once) and peace to me of goodwill!
Go Tell it on the Mountain
Go tell it on the mountains, over the hills and everywhere
Go tell it on the mountains, that Jesus Christ is born.
He is the King of Kings
He is the King of kings, He is the Lord of lords
His name is Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus (clap 2x inbetween Jesus)
Oh, He is the King!
O Hoshi ga Hikari
1. O hoshi ga hikaru, pika pika
Fushigi ni akaru pika pika
Naniga naniga aru no ka?
O hoshi ga hikaru, pika pika!
2. Rakuda ga to-o-ru, kapo kapo
Sabaku nohara o kapo kapo
Doko e doko e iku no ka?
Rakuda go to-o-ru kapo kapo!
(Quick translation: Why are the stars shining? *pika is the sound it makes. Where are camels going? *kapo is the sound of the camels walking.)

Christmas Photos!
We were asked to come to the office and hang Angel ornaments on the office Christmas tree. We sang, "Away in the Manger" for the OCSI office staff, then lined up to hang precious glass Angels. After school, some of the families participated in a Gingerbread House fundraiser for the Phillipines mission team. It will be an amazing Christmas season! Enjoy the photos!
